Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of the first digital news app in Ireland

Celebrating 50 years of digital news in Ireland with a brand new digital news and information app in the form of Galaxy Digital News.

Galaxy Digital news app is the culmination of the efforts of the Dublin-based startup’s team of talented Irish coders.

The app, which launched in late 2014, features an innovative new design, including a new interface designed for the modern user, a completely redesigned home screen, a new newsfeed layout, and more.

The news is provided by the app and is shared on social media platforms, which makes Galaxy Digital a perfect complement to any digital news-reading experience.

Galaxy also brings the same level of editorial content to its app, with the aim of helping users to understand and share news in a more personal and meaningful way.

The team behind Galaxy Digital has been working closely with its Dublin-born co-founder and co-owner of the startup, Patrick Ryle, for the last four years, and the team has already received the backing of the Cork and Dublin City Libraries and the Cork City Arts Council.

Galaxy was born out of a desire to create a more accessible and relevant digital news feed to people who want to engage with news, but who don’t want to scroll through a long article on the front page.

Patrick Riles team is currently working with the City of Cork, the Cork Museum and the Dublin Museum of Fine Arts to bring the app to Irish shores.

The project was launched by the City’s Digital News Advisory Council in January 2017, with an objective to create the most user-friendly news and content experience in the world for digital readers.

The Galaxy app is available for iOS, Android, Kindle, Windows Phone and Windows 8.1.
